Victor Valley News: Opposition continues to grow against California’s sanctuary laws

The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) is fighting what they call, California’s dangerous and unconstitutional sanctuary laws by filing two friend-of-the-court briefs with the U.S. District Court in support of the federal government’s lawsuit against these enactments.

On March 6, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit to stop California’s defiance of federal immigration law. Last year the state enacted laws that restrict the ability of local law enforcement agents to cooperate with federal immigration officials. The lawsuit, titled U.S. v. California, claims that three California state laws, “The California Values Act” (SB54), “The Immigrant Worker Protection Act” (AB450), and Assembly Bill 103 (AB103) unconstitutionally obstruct the federal government’s ability to enforce immigration laws.. … Read the full story in the Victor Valley News.
