Help Save Maryland, et al. v. Prince George’s County

January 2, 2016

IRLI filed suit against Prince George’s County (“County”), in September 2009, on behalf of Help Save Maryland (“HSM”) and Brad Botwin because of the County’s failure to comply with the Maryland Public Information Act. HSM sought immigration-related public records that it could use in formulating its Business Owner’s Guide and offering hearing testimony in Annapolis. Out of 39 counties, the County was the only one that failed to respond to HSM’s request for public records. The County finally produced some of the requested records after IRLI filed suit.
