Bloomberg Law: Justices Seek Administration's View on Dreamer Case
The U.S. Supreme Court is asking the White House to weigh in on a case that could upend former President Barack Obama's program for protecting young immigrants from deportation, or at least the states' policies surrounding it.
The case involves an Arizona policy denying driver's licenses to immigrants in the deferred action for childhood arrivals program on the ground that they are not lawfully in the U.S. The program provides deportation protection and work permits to young, undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children, also known as "dreamers."
