Press Conference to Announce Lawsuit Challenging San Francisco’s ID Card for Illegal Aliens
The following is being release by the Immigration Reform Law Institute:
What: IRLI intends to file a complaint, on behalf of concerned citizens, that emphasizes the environmental impacts that will result from the ordinance. The city will also be unlawfully spending taxpayer funds to implement this ordinance. Ordinance 274-07 was approved by the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors on November 20, 2007, and signed into law by Mayor Newsom a week after its approval. The petitioners are concerned with the depletion of the limited resources resulting from the foreseeable immigration-related population growth. As taxpayers, they also seek to exercise their rights under California law to challenge ordinances which are based on violations of law, in this case federal immigration law.
