Law360: Feds Bash Texas’ Push To Restart Child Expulsions

The Biden administration called out Texas’ rollback of COVID-19 guidance this week in a bid to stop the state from getting a preliminary injunction that would force authorities to ramp up migrant expulsions under a public health order.

The Lone Star State has accused the Biden administration of jeopardizing Texans’ health and flouting rulemaking procedures and immigration statutes by declining to cast out unaccompanied children arriving at the border as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. On Tuesday, the government recast Texas’ suit as an unsubstantiated effort to undermine U.S. immigration policy.
