Here’s Where Border State Governors Should Send Illegal Aliens Next

A brilliant strategy from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has put the mayors of sanctuary cities on their heels and exposed their hypocrisy on the destructive consequences of anti-borders policies.

Over the past few months, Abbott has been bussing scores of illegal aliens to major blue metropolises such as Washington, D.C and New York City after they have crossed the southern border in his state. This has irked mayors of those cities, who have complained that the influx of illegal aliens is overwhelming resources in their cities. Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has requested help from the National Guard to deal with the influx, while New York City Mayor Eric Adams has also requested assistance from the federal government. There is a great irony in Adams and Bowser watching their cities become overwhelmed by the beast they helped create.

Both Adams and Bowser have made names for themselves as anti-borders zealots. Under Bowser’s leadership, the nation’s capital city has provided free legal services to illegal aliens, while proudly proclaiming itself a “sanctuary city.” New York is also a notorious sanctuary city, having recently enacted legislation allowing noncitizens in the city to vote in local elections. This legislation was recently blocked by a judge after the Immigration Reform Law Institute filed a brief opposing the law.

Still, it doesn’t appear the recent influx of illegal aliens into their cities has changed Adams’ or Bowser’s minds on immigration policy. Abbott has offered to give both mayors a tour of the southern border to see the havoc their preferred policies have wreaked, but neither mayor has taken him up on the offer, and Adams publicly turned him down.

“Instead of a photo-op at the border, we hope Governor Abbott will focus his energy and resources on providing support and resources to asylum seekers in Texas as we have been hard at work doing in New York City,” an Adams’ spokesperson said in a recent statement.

Elite, cosmopolitan leftists want porous borders, but they want other states to pay the price for it. This is why Abbott and other governors are right to shift some of the burden of the crisis onto these cities.

If left-wing elites are going to import record numbers of illegal aliens into our country, it should be their responsibility to care for them once they get here.

As President Ronald Reagan once said; “If you can’t make them feel the light, make them feel the heat,” and Abbott is forcing these cities to feel the heat, and has indicated that he plans to double down. Abbott said in a recent interview that he plans to begin shipping illegal aliens to other cities. This is a great idea, and there is no shortage of progressive enclaves which deserve to be flooded with illegals.

No place is better equipped to host thousands of newly-arrived illegal aliens than Martha’s Vineyard, a popular Massachusetts vacation destination for left-wing elites, including the Obamas, the Clintons, and many left-leaning, outspoken Hollywood celebrities. Perhaps the new arrivals can stay at Barack Obama’s spacious $11.75 million mansion during their time on the island.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suggested doing this late last year, and earmarked $8 million in his state’s budget to send illegal aliens out of his state. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also proposed a bill last year that would create new points of entry at Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, another vacation favorite of anti-borders elites. Shipping illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard may be the best way to get Joe Biden’s attention given how many of his well-heeled fellow travelers live and vacation there.

Another great place for border state governors to send illegal aliens to would be Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where Biden spends most of his weekend at his beachside mansion. Maybe Biden would enjoy spending some time on the beach with all of the illegal aliens he has imported into the country? Or even invite them into his spacious home? That’s unlikely given that last year, Biden had a $455,000 fence installed for his protection at taxpayer expense,.

Ultimately, it would be the best outcome if our government could send all those here illegally back to their home countries, but sending them to progressive enclaves is the next best thing. If left-wing elites are going to import record numbers of illegal aliens into our country, it should be their responsibility to care for them once they get here.
