City of Hazleton v. Lozano listed as Scotusblog’s Petition of the Day

Commentary

February 5, 2014

On February 3, 2014, Scotusblog.com listed City of Hazleton v Lozano as its Petition of the Day. Scotusblog is a site that “comprehensively cover[s] the Supreme Court” and informs the public of which Petitions it thinks are significant. Being a “Petition of the Day” means that in Scotusblog’s view, the Petition raises an issue that has a “reasonabe chance of being granted.”

Both Hazleton and City of Farmers Branch v Villas at Parkside Partners are also listed as “Petitions to Watch” at the February 21 conference. IRLI expects to learn whether certiorari has been granted on February 24.
