Chicago Tribune: Gary mayor to visit immigrant child detention center in Texas

A contingent from the U.S. Conference of Mayors including Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson is expecting to visit a temporary housing site for the children of detained migrant parents Thursday in Tornillo, Texas.

The trip to the facility about 20 miles from El Paso was announced Wednesday, the same day President Donald Trump signed an executive order halting the separation of children from their parents. Read the full story in The Chicago Tribune.
