Beaufort Observer: Legal expert says county can be more aggressive to deter illegal aliens

Beaufort County can take a more aggressive approach toward illegal immigration, commissioners were told Monday by Mike Hethmon, an attorney with the Immigration Reform Law Institute. When it comes to providing health or social services, he said, federal laws only require limited services be provided to everyone, like emergency healthcare, while other services are specifically forbidden.
