LEGAL HELP
IRLI employs a small staff of attorneys and support personnel, based in Washington DC, to provide legal and legislative assistance to US citizens, US workers, and government personnel nationwide. IRLI will consider litigation in federal, state and local courts, as well as before administrative tribunals at all levels.
Our resources permit us to assist only in a small percentage of the cases where legal help is requested. Much of IRLI's caseload consists of "test cases" where the broader interests of the public are at stake as well as those of the named clients. We provide these legal services as a public service on a non-profit basis. Where appropriate, we attempt to provide referral services to other public interest lawyers.
IRLI prefers to work cooperatively with local counsel where possible. In many cases, we expect plaintiffs or associated local organizations to participate actively in gathering information needed to advance their cases.
IRLI does not represent non-citizens or citizens seeking immigration benefits. We are unable currently to accept certain classes of cases, including marriage fraud by mail-order brides or other arranged marriages, and libel or slander actions.
Requests for assistance should include a brief description of the problem, full contact information, and should be signed by the sender. IRLI cannot respond to anonymous communications.
